The 2022 Domaine Latour-Giraud Meursault "Cuvée Charles Maxime" is a refined white Burgundy made from Chardonnay grapes sourced from multiple Meursault lieux-dits, showcasing the village's diverse terroir. Fermented and aged in oak barrels (one-third new) for 15-16 months, it develops richness and complexity. Aromas of pear, orange peel, acacia blossom, and subtle petrol lead to a dense, sappy palate with excellent texture, depth, and persistence. The long, nutty finish is balanced by lively acidity. Praised by critics, including Jasper Morris (90-92 points) and Burghound (90 points), this Meursault is enjoyable now but also has aging potential.
